My Personal Worm Inn
I’ve had some requests to show my personal Worm Inn on the blog. James Cameron look out, here it is.
Seriously, The Worm Inn is amazingly good at processing scraps and amazingly easy to keep your worms alive. The first 3 pics show how the level has dropped since I fed it a few days ago. The next few pictures show the contents after I dug down a bit. Nice fluffy castings!
My wife had some grapes she wanted me to get rid of as they were getting mushy….yuck for us, perfect for the worms.
After I put in the grapes, I added a weeks worth of toilet paper tubes. They make good bedding and the worms seem to enjoy them as they enjoy all cardboard or paper.
The final pics show me zipping up the mesh top and simply watering down the system with the hose.
Caution: You cannot water this way with a plastic bin. Plastic does not breathe. Watering this way in a plastic bin will create a swamp. and likely kill your worms.
That’s it. Nothing exciting, no time consuming activities, no adding a handful of food or less every few days…just throw in the food, cover with bedding, and wet it down….it just works!
